  • Do I need to manually update PRE CCC ProChannels? or other CW included plugs?

I've assumed that running CCC would take care of updates. Then I found out, if my Z3ta+2 or Rapture was installed previously to CCC "arriving", that I'd have to download the latest updates and install those. What else might I "need" to do?

I've restored/reloaded my studio PC recently and want to "clean house" as much as possible before running another image, restore point and recovery thumb drive(which may not be necessary but I haven't figured that out yet, either   LOL).

Thanks for any clarity and help!
Michael

Simple, run CCC and make all the light green.

That's what I thought, too, John, but if you had somethings (and that's what the real question is!) installed prior to installing/using CCC, those apparently do not get updated, like my Z3ta2.

Perhaps I misunderstood, but though I had a green light, I didn't have the latest version.

Lets just say "In Theory"  Green lights will mean all your stuff is the latest version. Sure wouldn't surprise me if there were glitches.

I keep a back up file of the Command Center Download folder on a back up drive. Everything I ever downloaded is backed up there. I think it's something like 50 GB now.
You can quickly see all the versions of each item.
Most other than Sonar itself have not updated since CCC came along, but some things have 2 or more files each with the version number so easy to tell which is that latest. But if you open the Z3tA2 it will show whatever the latest version is. Click on the Name icon in the upper left. = rgc:audio z3ta+

Most of us back in November also downloaded directly from or "My Accounts" page and copied all the serial numbers as well. So you might want to do that if you can spare the bandwidth as those for sure are the latest versions.
You could then compare the version numbers with those in the CCC Download folder.

I had downloaded "almost everything" from my Cake account, when my studio PC wouldn't boot and after a couple weeks, I reverted to an image on an external drive from July 2017(which I really didn't want to do, but it turned out that was my "only" option).
SO, I am going through the process again, comparing versions and "making a list and checking it twice". LOL
And I'm using the downloaded version numbers as my guide.
BUT I haven't checked the CCC folder. I never thought of that, duh! So thanks for that!

Some of the separately purchased ProChannel modules aren't available from CC. PC4K Gate and the PC4K Channel Compressor I believe. The ones that are in CC are the Concrete Limiter and the CA-2A.

Thanks Rasure. I've had my head stuck in PC recovery/rebuild mode and obviously it's time to think about my Cakewalk reality! Little by little I'm getting through all of it...... I'm impressed by how much I've added over the 18 years since PA9. I certainly don't think I can keep a clear sense of what was included and what was bought "extra", not after all this time!
