HI again,
               Sorry I went off on a tangent there Scook. Ok, so my soundcard in a Realtek  HD audio driver,(I'm using windows 8) and I use ASIO4all in MC6, and 7, set to ASIO mode ,in  'preferences'  ,if it's useful my Audio capture device is a Roland Quad Capture.

I'm not scook, but I recommend you delete ASIO4All from your computer and download and install Roland's true ASIO driver.

Yes, Greg is correct.  don't use your computers' soundcard AT ALL for Music Creator.  use the roland octacapture.  in fact, I use my recording soundcard for ALL sound output and I've disabled my motherboard realtek completely.
 
delete ASIO4ALL
use Rolands ASIO drivers
use ASIO mode in MC
connect your speakers or headphones up to the roland and only use that at least while using MC
 
if you're having cracking/popping/stuttering issues that way, then change the ASIO hardware buffers (accessible in the PREFERENCES by clicking the ASIO button).  increasing them will reduce stuttering/popping.  decreasing them will give less delay when using softsynths or plugins to monitor your output while recording.
