Does anyone else find it incredibly cool that Meng is getting into the weeds in this forum and helping people out? I certainly do.

You are absolutely right, Craig. I am looking for future of Sonar in more and more brighter colors. Don't remember if anyone from Gibson ever put anything on forum not mentioning words for welcome or leaving... They didn't care about Sonar or us. Just like they abandoned toy they bored of. Well, I wonder if anyone from Roland put any welcome or bye words here?

For this I have big respect for them. And it is promising Meng seems to be really excited. Not just like invest in something what could return investment one day but like in something he is happy to be part of...

Meng only took over last week and has posted loads of information so far. I think they need some time to get sorted and make a new version of the DAW available but that could be a few months away.

So let's just sit back and relax and give the man a chance to shine.

I am sure Noel had loads of new features under test plus bug fixes. Many people left so he has to get a team back together again.

I can see Momentum back on the scene also perhaps as part of the new software. Maybe that will be the new name???

With time, maybe there will be more.

did you read my op?

Of course :) Sorry for lack of clarity, I was sort of commenting on the poster above me, and should have put an @BobF in there. That being said, I think it is also an reply on your initial question. Maybe the BandLab app, is generating demand for the Link Analog devices ... even though the app in itself is free etc. etc. Maybe the missing link between hardware and software will be made. As somebody in here pointed out, it's tough on the DAW market after Apple started giving away Logic and Garageband for next to nothing. I don't wan't to speculate anymore, I have to good of an imagination.

I'm a little worried because the only product I see on the Bandlab site is a smartphone app.  I hope they offer more than that!  The day that I have to start making music on a little smartphone or tablet is the day I'm done with it.  I will NOT create music on something that tiny.  Sorry.

@Johnbee58 It has been confirmed elsewhere that the successor to Sonar will be a desktop app, my guess is that it will be very similar to what we have today. Rome wasn't built in a day, and it's just 1 week since the announcement of the takeover of IP. I guess the ink isn't still dry on all the papers that needs to be signed.

Now that I know this was a reply to me

My post was a bit of tongue-n-cheekery, but having things for sale doesn't necessarily = making money

With the recent update this is getting real.  I hope they pull this off with great success.

i'm not sure how this is on topic for this thread, but how is he helping people? he's just bought a company, as a billionaire's son, he's bound to dip his toes, cherry pick some posts to join in on... i'd be more surprised if he didn't
