So Meng has updated his stickie.

We have a new DAW on the horizon this is exciting news to me. From only having one main DAW to having three. Studio One3 SPLAT and (SYMBOL) formerly known as Sonar.

A question will the new flagship DAW have new VST's will it have new plugins and EQ's or will these be borrowed from SPLAT. It would be nice to see a clean start but enabling us to use Dim Pro, Rapture and the rest so at least they will be some consistency and incentive to continue on an upgrade path also along with compatibility so old projects can be opened from SPLAT to the new DAW without using Stems.

I am hoping that it will be new and shiny with a different look and feel to what we had before. Meng says this will happen within the next four weeks. That is some work that you have put in if that is the case.

Thanks for the update exciting times for Bandlab (Bakers) or the drummers are drumming up something.

Noel confirmed it will be basically the same product, and how couldn't in be in the timescale. Re branding, some fixes and new features is what I'd expect instead of current Vst's being reworked.

I do wonder abut things like the Blue Tubes bundle, and whether the agreement to include these was between Blue Tubes and the Cakewalk Company that is now closed, or the Cakewalk IP that Meng purchased. This desn't efect me s much, but fr many users Blue Tubes were among their first concerns. If this is the case, there maybe some other little bit that can't be included, but it's all part of a fresh start.

After using studio one for the last few months, I REALLY appreciate the layout and look if sonar. Studio 1 is terrible looking. Particularly the track view. It's a mess.
My two cents:
Sonar is only lacking when it comes to time and pitch stretching. Studio 1 excels at this.
The only other thing is stability. I use Ctrl left and right arrow to zoom in and out -constantly. Every one in a while this caused a crash. Studio one has never crashed since I got it in December.
But sonar is a recording studio, and a great one.
The editing tools are so easy to use.
Between the included tools and the 3rd party plugins, it's damn near perfect.

Honestly, I don't want them to change much.

I tried to like the BlueTubes bundle, I really did. Just never hit it off. I won't miss it.

Gotta agree with you there, I mean some of it was OK but there was nothing that impressed me to the point where I reached for it instead of plugins I already had. I'd probably appreciate them if I was starting out with nothing though.

Likewise.  I liked the BT stereo imager, but really couldn't get with the rest of them.  And lately I use the Waves S1 imager.  I think it is as easy to use as BT and does a better job summing to mono (at least it seems that way to me.)

Sonar works excellently for my workflow, and has for 20 + years, I'd wish for a few fixes in the current GUI only. Everything seems to be working well and it's been very stable.

RCH what do you want in the New Flagship DAW (it has new code) So I guess it will be different from SPLAT. Not an enhanced version of SPLAT.

that contradicts the info we've been given, that is, that it will likely be very similar to the last sonar release

I agree with Paul. There was never any news of any "New code"  ?

Unless of course you can provide a link ?
