Mr. torture
Is the Melodyne we get with the Platinum version the full program, or is it a light version?

Thanks!

It´s the light version-
called essentiel.

Thanks Pragi, are we able to upgrade from the essential or do we have to buy the full blown program?

If you install and register the essential version, eventually Celemony will send you a massively discounted offer to upgrade to the full version.

I have installed and registered the essential version, but I never received an email to upgrade. I will write them.

Also, how much of a massive discount was offered? Melodyne studio upgrade fro Essential is around $650, yikes!

Thanks guys

There was a grace period when they offered it for $150 or about (memory).
But this brings up a good question about BandLab/Sonar future 3rd party relations. For instance ARA version 2 and upgrade to Melodyne is soon coming.

If you have time , you can wait for a sale .
It´s like Simpleman writes above,
there are sometimes sales for arround 150 bucks for an upgrade.

If you are in a hurry, I recommend to ask CClarry in the deals forum for the best price or
celemony to make a special offer.

I always took the term "light version" to refer to a special de-featured version of a commercial product typically not sold by the manufacturer. In that case, the Melodyne bundled with SONAR is the full retail version of Melodyne Essential. There are 4 versions of Melodyne. Melodyne Essential is the basic version.

This was true when released with X3 and may still happen today. The upgrade was for Melodyne Editor. At the time the most feature filled 64bit version of Melodyne. It worked on a single track just like Essential. The multi-track version, Melodyne Studio, was a 32bit program/plug-in. With the release of Melodyne 4, all 4 versions of Melodyne (Essential, Assistant, Editor and Studio) are 64bit. For someone shopping for an upgrade from Melodyne Essential consider both Editor or Studio (on sale of course). I would skip Assistant as it lacks the polyphonic algorithms. For more information refer to the feature comparison chart on the Celemony site.

They are very obliging and want people to be on their top product if possible. Just send them an email and e plain. Your situation asking them what the best price they can give you for the Studio Version.
