I'd been searching this site re making vocal lead tracks sound more full. Of course, one great way is to first just sing the track a 2nd time and combine them. Since it's difficult to line up both tracks exactly, I found I had to do a lot of editing in Melodyne. This worked to a degree, but took lots of time. I had seen a post recommending an earlier ver of Sonar which had a program which could align both tracks. Something about matching transients. I think that would have taken a fraction of the time and done a better job. Does anybody know if Sonar has such a program, and, if not, if I could purchase one such as this.

VocALign Pro  is another 3rd party plug-in option

Thanks. I see VocAlign Pro costs $400. I would think it's not a good idea to update to Platinum right now until we see what's happening with the Sonar product. I'll just continue to do it the old fashioned way.

Have you tried  Audio Snap?

You could also use comping to record several takes of the 2nd vocal and then select the most "in time" take of each phrase. Might sound more natural like that as opposed to trying to line up transients perfectly.

It's a great ARA plugin! Easy to use, and very good results.

I double track a lot of vocal tracks. Sometimes even up to 6 on background Vox.
Key is to be precise in singing it. I've met people who are masters at it. Not to toot my own horn but ive been doing it for 30 years, back when it was 3 tracks for vocals on an analog 8 track reel.
Freddy Mercury was one who was almost perfect. mind you this was the days before digital audio. You need to look no further than Bohemian rhapsody. Its a great example.
 
Before you hit Melodyne use Vocal synch to tighten up small parts.
I find Vocal synch to be cumbersome but if used lightly, you can get away with small lifting (without artifacts) and use Melodyne for the heavy lifting.

I don't  know what IMHO is. Is it another application, or is IMHO an abbreviation for something like "I'm sure," as in      "I'm sure it is way better than the included VocalSYnc."
 
I've never used Audio Snap, but I guess that might be good. I would think Audio snap puts sounds into the correct timing, as opposed to just matching them to another track.
