I don't know if it is because I opened an old project from like 2009, or if it is just a co-incidence.
 
Anyway, since then, any new audio track created in a project does not have eq.
In console view, the eq section appears, but does not react to any input.
In Prochannel, no eq section appears and there doesn't seem to be anyway to insert it.
It should be automatically inserted anyways.
 
Starting a new project with a 16 track template, then everything is OK, eqs are present and work ok.
It is only when inserting a new track that eq fails to be inserted in the track.
 
Has anyone run into this, or is there anyway to fix this?

Edit: Cloning a track, keeps the eq. Only when creating a new track does the problem arise.
Re-edit: Ok I found how to add it after the fact. So it is the default "new track" that has eq absent.
            So the question now is: How to set default eq  in new track?

            Found it. Right click in Prochannel: set default
 
I guess I'll leave this here anyway in case someone has the same problem.    
 

I think that happened to me a while back.  Try closing and re-opening Sonar.  i think that did it for me.
 

Sounds like you've managed to modify your default track template.

Older projects corrupt something in Sonar for me as well.
Try a PC Reboot. That seems to clear any strange happening out of memory.

Loading legacy projects
If you load a pre-SONAR Professional/Platinum project that uses the per-channel Sonitus:fx EQ, the ProChannel QuadCurve Equalizer module will be disabled.
If you want to keep and edit the Sonitus:fx EQ, double-click the small Equalizer graph in the collapsed ProChannel.
To replace the Sonitus:fx EQ with the ProChannel QuadCurve Equalizer, do one of the following:

• Press CTRL and click the Equalizer enable/disable button
• Enable the Equalizer module. SONAR prompts if you want to switch from the Sonitus:fx EQ to the ProChannel QuadCurve Equalizer.

May want to work on a copy of the project before converting to QCEQ (or anytime when porting a project to a different version of SONAR to be safe). Take note of the existing Sonitus:EQ settings before conversion.
 
My guess is so much time has elapsed since X1 it is easy to forget this change.
 
The flags to handle this condition may be set for the session. It has been a long time since I played with this.

Sonar is quite the beast now and it's impossible for me to remember everything unless you use it daily.
Heck, I've only scratched the surface of what it can all do, even after 25 years of regular occasional use.
