Has the registry been cleaned up? This is an important step.
Assuming there have been install attempts, the registry has not be cleaned and are no other Cakewalk products on the machine follow steps from this article http://www.cakewalk.com/Support/Knowledge-Base/2007013372/Clean-Install-All-Cakewalk-Software
BUT BEFORE YOU DO THE CLEAN ALL CAKEWALK SOFTWARE PROCESS TAKE NOTE OF STEP 8.
If there is any non-Cakewalk software installed in either:
C:\Program Files\Cakewalk
C:\Program Files(x86)\Cakewalk

understand this software will be removed too. Think 3rd party plug-ins. If there are any non-Cakewalk products in these folders consider moving the folders to another location so that it may be restored after the clean install.

On to installing using the Command Center
  • Run the Command Center
  • Click the gear to access the Command Center setup
  • On the options tab - enable Verbose Install. This shows all the prompts as if running the installers from the Command Line including the path prompts.
  • On the Paths tab change the folder locations as needed. Note some sample based plug-ins do not allow for alternate locations so you will either need to specify the plug-in path here or move the samples after install if you use the default path. I can help with the latter if you choose to keep the plug-ins on the system drive. I do not recommend changing the download path here because the Command Center will reset it when logging back into the Command Center. A better way to leave the default and fix this at the OS level with a directory junction. The choice is yours. I will provide exact steps if you tell me where you want to put the folder. The Content Path is a large part of a SONAR install. This you will definitely want to change when running a small system drive.
  • Once the Command Center is all setup. Run the installers and answer the prompts.

My advice would be to install evertything in your SSD drive C, specially SONAR, for better performance. If you are running out of space in your SSD drive here a couple of hints:
a) when you use Command Center to installl your programs, it downloads all installers in C\ProgramData\Cakewalk\CommandCenter\Downloads. After installation they will remain in that location using a lot of usefull space. You can copy then to an external disk to use them just in case of a reinstall and erase this installers that you dont need from drive c . This will save a lot of space in you drive C\ProgramData\Cakewalk\CommandCenter\Downloads.
b) if you need additional space you can use the windows program DiskCleanup. You can find it under Windows Administrative Tools\DiskCleanup use it to clean up drive C. Please also note that you can under DiskCleanup click on the button "Cleanup system files" to claim aditional space (for example the space used for windows updates). In this way you can recover some aditional Gbs
c) if you need additional space (i doubt it), then move samples to other drives.
I hope this will help

Carlos

Please let the OP follow Scooks advice. I know your just trying to be helpful but additional instruction will only confuse the pour guy. . He is in good hands.

Ok, quick update where I'm at. I have everything I need on the C drive, except for Dimension. I'm about to get rid of the install files off the C drive, then use disk clean up.

If that doesn't free up enough space, I'm going to try and move samples from the C drive to the D drive, just the samples though.
