When on Soundclick for instance, the export they recommend for optimal translation is 160kbps bit rate, and I usually set the sample rate at 48000.  It is usually the best translation.. However the audible difference in the studio when compared to a wave file is like night and day, so much more perception into the depth of a wave file than I think MP3 will cover, the compensation is alright it mp3 just doesn't bring the detailed clarity of your work for other listeners on the internet to appreciate as well.

Thanks

I bought a DVD player over 10 years ago that was DVD-Audio (DVD-A) capable.  This format came out about the same time as Super Audio CD (SACD).  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD-Audio

DVD-Audio uses most of the storage on the disc for high-quality audio and is not intended to be a video delivery format. DVD-Audio has much higher audio quality than video DVDs containing concert films or music videos.

DVD-Audio has been described as "extinct" by 2007.  Condolences ...

I have one DVD-A disk, the Metallica Black Album.  Yep, it rocks!

So I suppose MP3 and earbuds won over audiophile formats?
