I just got this  pedal today and I have to say it's not bad for the money. It even sounds good going into an amp for more flavors. It has guitar and bass cabs. If your looking for something that is easy on your budget check it out.

I've been thinking about getting one of these for my church/worship setup to use with my Suhr Reactive Load. What are you using as an amp load? Or are you using some sort of analog/digital preamp setup?

I don't play live anymore. When I don't want to record micing an amp I just plug my guitar or bass directly into it and output it to my interface and I also place over drives or distortion pedals before it and delays and modulation pedals after it if I want to print my effects. This just emulates 7 different speakers theres no load necessary. It even sounds good going in the front or effects loop of an amp. One of the good features is you can output to two sources each with a different cab sound. I also sent a track I did direct into my interface and sent that track to the cabdrtvr and recorded that to a new track. I am surprised how good the cabs are and its features for a buck fifty. Check out the manual. Go to Digitec website for it

Ah ok. Cool. Glad it works well for you.

You know... S-Gear is only $99 right now. You really should look into it. IMO you can't beat it for any price. Check the deals forum here for info.

I bought S Gear over a year ago as well as Torpedo Wall of sound. S Gear is the best one I've used so far but I don't use these types of software much at all. I like getting my sound and printing it.

A hardware unit such as the Digitech (bass speaker emulations) may work with Pedal Steel. Bass amps work much better than "guitar" amps for Pedal Steel. My live amp is a Carvin BX500 bass amp head.  I'll have to give one a shot as I like to record direct.

I've tried some of the VST speaker cab emulations and they didn't work well for Pedal Steel as they are aimed at Lead Guitar/distorted guitar.

I also have been checking out these cab sim pedals and came across this one also:

This brand is not sold at a lot of the normal internet sites (Sweetwater, American Musical), so I thought I would throw it out there.
It has more cab sims and also has mic sims and power amp sims included. Plus you can add your own cab sims to it.

There is nothing stopping you from printing your S-Gear tones. But hey making music is a personal thing and we all need to do what works best for us so the creativity goes down quickly and smoothly. Glad you found a nice solution. I'd still like to try one of these pedals out for a live rig though.

My bass sounds great through this pedal. It has both guitar and bass cabs. I did a quick compare. I recorded a track with my bass through just this pedal direct to my interface and did the same with a bogner cab ir software and I liked the Cabdryvr much better. Better than S Gear etc. But its all subjective.

You sold me, I ordered one today.  I'll give it a shot.  I have a SansAmp bass DI, works great with my Yamaha 5 string bass but not my Pedal Steel Guitar.

(I used to have a MosValve 500 amp - great amp but heavy).
