Hello, impact lx 49 sometimes plays EW choirvoices and more than not doesn't. It will always control the dials and volume controls but will not play the EW voices piano. I get midi activity lights. In controllers I will select impact lx 49 but it reverts to ACT immediately. What am I missing here. Can I disable ACT? It will not record midi either

Thanks, I have all that and it would play and record midi sometimes. Then it would stop. I would have to redo all the installation to get it to play again. It is working/connected because it operates the faders etc in sonar and the softsynth. It just won't play the voices when I press the keys. something is going on with the channels routings that I cant figure out. You see on image 2 on the link under  Controller surface settings? when I select impact 49 and apply, if I open it back up it says Act, not impact. How do I get that to stop doing that, or is that the way ACT operates?

It works fine on my laptop but on my desktop I don't see any of any of these ACT pages, do i need to reinstall sonar or do something in the ini files or registry. Is it time for a different daw for support? : BTW how do I uninstall sonar, there is no uninstall in program/cakewalk and it does not show up in control panel uninstall. thanks

Splat uses Command center to un install. 
 
Are you sure you have the setting for the input and the output of the midi track pointing correctly.
 
I = Input you normally select your controller and use OMNI 
0= Output this you select the VST instrument you wish to use
C= Channel select the channel
B= Bank select the bank
P= Patch select the patch.  
Bank and patch can be set to "NONE" and you select the sounds using the GUI for the VST. 
 
Thee are 2 places to select the input/output options.

right click on Sonar in command center

found uninstall. right click on it. hmm
