The previous thread on this was nine months old, so I thought it best to start anew. See my signature for the specs on my rig. I have SONAR Producer x64, latest version (23.0.8 Build 30 [2017.8]) and have been using it to lay down some guitar tracks. I had loaded the latest version of Cakewalk TH3 that comes with SONAR as well, and everything seemed to work fine. Today I opened up SONAR to do more work, and all of my loaded instances of TH3 suddenly will not work. The plugin is there, but all of the choices are greyed out. I cannot load any new presets. The one I already had loaded simply does not modify the guitar sound. The File is c:/Program Files/Common Files/ VST3/TH3-64.vst3. I don't believe I ever had the demo version on as there is no %appdata% directory. I've tried rebooting the computer, then reinstalling Boutique suite. I tried an earlier version of boutique suite as well back to 2017.5, but that didn't work either. I am at a loss here as to why the plugin will not work. Any help would be appreciated.

I can help you with this news from overloud in the link below. They give the codes for TH3 and breverb to sonar users because of the recent sonar news. I have mine. So do others. It will be a separate plugin. Can't hurt!

Tried a reset and scan?

TH3 Cakewalk has the demo and full versions built into the plug-in. There are only a few banks of presets in TH3 Cakewalk that are not greyed out. It is possible to access the other banks but that switches the plug-in into demo mode. Once the demo expires the only way I know to recover the original TH3 Cakewalk is detailed here except TH3 Cakewalk has been moved into the SONAR core. So, if you are running a current version of SONAR instead of re-installing the Boutique Suite, roll back SONAR then and re-install the current version SONAR.
 
There must be "%appdata%\Overloud\TH3" or the plug-in will not work at all.

This is probably the easiest way to install TH3 now, plus this version will now work as a VST plugin anywhere VST is accepted.

Hi, guys. Thanks for all your suggestions. I am now really worried about SONAR now that Gibson's Cakewalk has been bought out by Bandlab.
 
To Scook: I have tried your suggestion. The problem is that there is no %appdata%\Overload\TH3 anywhere. I have never seen it, and I cannot find it. I have tried uninstalling back to a previous version, updating to the newest version, and still there is no such directory entry anywhere that I can find it. Virtually all of the choices are still grayed out. This is what is puzzling. They were NOT grayed out before. All those choices were available. And now all of a sudden they are not. The Boutique module seems to load just fine. It is successful each time I try it. The choices are just no longer there.
 
To Promidi, I have tried to reset and to rescan the VST's, but the problem there is that the VST3 is already there and working just fine. It is loaded properly. It just no longer gives me all the choices when I pull it up.
 
It would appear my only choice is to upgrade and buy the full version of TH3, which is what I was trying to avoid. But more importantly, I am fearful of what will onw happen to SONAR under the new ownership.

I'm not sure if mine is the same as I'm on the full TH3

In your case that is the same as %appdata%\Overloud\TH3
 
IOW, %appdata% expands to the theUserDirectory\AppData\Roaming
AFAIK all versions of TH3 use the same folder
 
TH3 Cakewalk has 5 banks of presets. All the other banks are available only in the demo and full version. TH3 Cakewalk will show all the demo/full version presets when "see all" is check above the banks. All the banks except the 5 TH3 Cakewalk banks will be greyed out.
