Wow. Loads of helpful info in 1 post. Re: the last one, are you saying that even now, I could "bounce" the track that I have already used with Melodyne to another track---and then I would be able to do things like delete small phrases with the erase tool, and/or set up splits?
Render it.
Some people don't like to render their ARA/Region FX because they want to have the original incase they want to go back to the start. But personally myself, if it needed to be fixed, then why would I want the original ?
But you can clone the track so you'll have a back up.
I've never had Melodyne crash on me and I use it vigorously on every project.
What I have had happen is.. I've had Region FX tracks that I have not rendered (I let them pile up) they caused instability.
After im done using Melodyne, Drum Replacer or Vocal synch I always Right click on the Region FX clip portion and choose "Bounce to clips". Now the clip can be edited, split, copy, pasted, what ever.
You can alternatively: Right-click a Region FX clip and choose Region FX > Melodyne > Render Region FX from the Clips pane pop-up menu.
