For me I love the Metal ones the best, but some of the melodies has to much harmonies to make it with a distorted guitar. So this version is perfect.

Not questioning whether you think the Clash version is better, but I doubt Bobby Fuller himself felt that way. He died July 18, 1966. Were the Clash even born then?
