  • Tracks won't stay hidden...

All of a sudden in my commercial projects tracks that I've hidden don't stay that way.  If go to the console view or close and then re-open a project...all hidden tracks are visible again.  This is a MAJOR pain.  Can someone tell me what I have (or haven't) done???

Plus...I still can't find a way to open the console view full screen as a default.  I don't use screensets or lenses.  I just use a full screen track view and a full screen console view for 90% of what I do.  Until about 6 months ago I never had this problem.

Possibly this  You've just hit this by mistake. SHIFT H

And You do need to save a LENS if you have a layout you always use.
Set up your screens the way you want them and then save that. I use the Advanced for mine.

If it is just one project, make sure you dont have a locked screenset. It it is multiple projects, make sure you dont have a lense active.

You could move all hidden tracks to a new track folder, that way if you do accidently unhide them you've only got the track folder to unhide again.

This has been reported a few times before and it's happened to me on many occasions. I really don't think I've accidentally hit shift-H - I've seen it happen when I've loaded up a project specifically to tidy it up, have hidden a bunch of tracks, hit save and then opened it the next morning to find all the tracks unhidden. I've also had archived & hidden  & archived MIDI tracks completely disappear from the track manager, never to be seen again. It was buggy for sure.

Is it session drummer ? Or a VSI Instrument ?
Never seen it with Audio tracks but I have seen it with midi VSI's.
FYI- As Brucey mentioned, try a locked screenset.

nope...this is all audio...this is in the voiceover suite.  I think I'm on the latest version of SPLAT.  I tried the above track solution...but no love.  It's pretty maddening because I've got about 8 or 9 raw vo tracks that I've pulled clips from to build 4 spots with FX and music and they clutter up the screen making hard to see which is the master vo track.  Sucks.

Plus...rant on...Why oh why did they change "clone track" to "duplicate track" and, worse, make its default state to NOT duplicate the "events".  That is just crazy.  If it ain't broke...they'll break it.

Perhaps the universe is telling you to stop recording voiceovers, and go back to writing and recording your excellent original songs.
