is it possible to instead i am boring configure the right tune in keyboard, i make configuration in sonar (for future load) , to make that casio keyboard key always match with some tune that i have in guitar ?  , even if the keyboard own speaker's sound in diferent tune. (if so i put the speaker's volume down)

important is To sonar, that midi keyboard key it's always my (E) guitar tune for example.

how can i make it?

Perhaps it's the translation, but I don't understand the question...On a keyboard E is E, A is A, D is D, etc.,...Standard guitar tuning is E-A-D-G-B-E, what's you're question?

Do you want to transpose the MIDI track the keyboard is connected to so you can play a scale starting on E just using "white" notes?????

Do you what to change the key signature of the track so it shoes E when you open Staff view???

or is it somthing else?

i have a small casio keyboard with midi in/out too, i like to use it as a midi controler for soft synths for sonar 8.0.
The problem is that sometimes i use another string tune in my guitar, so for example the note E doesn't sound with the same tune that keyboard has.it's a semi tone above or something,
keyboard have a tranpose tune midi (it's for midi tune ), it's ok it work's, but it's boring each time i turn keyboard off it goes to default. (and because it turn off automatic or with a bug i dont know, it's much more boring )

sometimes when i turn in the keyboard again, and put the the same value of tranpose tune midi , it stay's in a diferent tune that had before, so have to look it again.

EDIT:

I have found solution.
Each MIDI track in SONAR has a small parrameter for "KEY +".
This = transpose.
I can put -1 or +1 or whatever i like. This will make the effect i want :)

Yes, if your talking about just transposing the notes up or down some number of steps, you can use the Key+ parameter (looks like #b 0) in the MIDI track header to specify how many half-steps up or down (negative numbers) you want to transpose the MIDI from the stored value. This will also transpose MIDI being echoed from the keyboard.

I can't check at the moment but I think that if you save the track as a track template it will store the transpose setting. You then insert the track from the track template and it will already be transposed.

I couldn't understand this guy's cryptic dialogue, but I might have the same condition :
The midi tracks  plays out of tune .
USING  SONAR X1 (2010 version) with the TTS  plug in : When I put a note on the piano roll view, it plays one note low. This is the same for keyboard,  (I'll say "button" instead of "key" to differentiate between the instrument actuator  and the tone  generated) If I press the "C" button, I get a "B" tone . If I'm playing a wave/ audio track in the key of C,  I have to compose piano view in a different key. Also the timing is out of sync :The midi track (TTS bass)  plays a half beat late from the audio (guitar strum)
However the drum midi/ drum kit plug in seems to play on beat.
Is there some way to tune the keyboard with the midi or re-tune or re-sync  the midi processor?
Another oddity since I installed Windows 10: if I have another program open , such as media player, sonar will up the tones to chipmonk pitch (but the tempo speed stays the same ) . If I close out, close the other program, and reopen sonar, the pitch will be normal
Personally I think the windows 10 rebuilds are a big part of the problem.

This might help you understand how midi and Sonar work. http://www.cactusmusic.ca/Sonarmidi.htm

If your using on board sound card you can have timing issues.
You should start a new thread as most people won't make it past the first sentence of this one.

Sir Les
I think rstudio wants to know..is there a way to save a setup on his casio keyboard ,through sonar to suit the sonar song key he is making, so when he turns it off, and shuts down, and reopens the project, and the keyboard...sonar sends the keyboard setup it saved to the keyboard so it does not need to be retuned , so rstudio does not have to redo the tuning of the keyboard again....

might mean he is not hearing it played back through his keyboard=using as a sound source....he needs to constantly retune the keyboard...and it is boring..or time consuming...perhaps?

So is that mapping?
Or, if one can get the casio info file dump for the keyboard saved into the sonar project, so he does not have to retune the keyboard?
or, is it sent through channel 1 as omni?..send receive midi data/settings?

something in preferences to tick perhaps?

Perhaps?...it is hard to understand...I do not use Sonar in this way...so how midi works in sonar might help.

I think he needs a librarian kind of sent file of the saved setup....for future proper keyboard tuning to the project when opened sent to reload those settings....because it is boring to always be doing it...is surely the keygen to decode the cryptic words....that would be the key to understanding boring...and future loading into by sonar for to make those settings done automatic.

Cheers
