I have a few questions:

  1. Please confirm that you are running Windows 7
  2. Are you using Remote Desktop?
  3. Have you done any system performance optimizations?
  4. Are you using multiple monitors?
  5. What is your graphics card?
  6. Does X-Ray work
    1. Open a plug-in Window
    2. Hover your mouse over the plug-in UI
    3. Type SHIFT+X
    4. The plug-in should become semi-transparent
Thanks!

I am having a probelm where the project keeps playing but track view doesn't move. It appears to happen intermittently. And When it happens, I don't know what I have done to make it happen. So I just keep working and scrolling when needed and then it comes back.

Thanks MrMayno,

Can you please confirm that you have Desktop Composition enabled in Windows:

  1. Go to System Properties by pressing WinKey + Pause/Break (top right corner of keyboard)
  2. Click on Advanced System Settings, Advanced and then Settings
  3. Check "Enable Desktop Composition"
  4. Click Apply
  5. Check SONAR's Now Time
  6. Let us know if it helps

Hi Grem,

This is likely a feature.  When you click to edit in the Track View during playback we stop scrolling, assuming you want to work there without the rug being ripped out from under you.  To start scrolling again, right-click the top half of the time ruler or stop and start playback again.  If you hate this behavior, you can disable it by toggling the option in the Track View:  Options > Click Behavior > Left Click Locks Scroll.

"enable desktop composition" is not an option.

"enable desktop composition" is not an option.
Any default Windows 7 install should have this option available.  If you don't, it's likely that the "Desktop Window Manager Session Manager" service is, for some reason, not running.  SONAR relies on this service.

You can find the Windows Services tool by typing "services" in the start menu.  Can you confirm that its Startup Type is set to "Automatic" and its Status is "Started"?

Thanks.

Bill,

Yes, desktop window manager session manager is started and set to automatic.

I called support today and, as requested, sent them my system information file. Will let you know what I find out.

Jim
