Bill,

I got the Now Time Marker back. I am not positive as to how though. I think the issue may have been resolved when I went to Performance Options/Visual Effects box and changed the setting from "Let Windows choose what's best for my computer" to "Adjust for best appearance". Sorry I can't be more sure of what corrected the problem. Thanks for the support.

Great!  Thanks for your patience.  Your guess, regarding "let Windows choose" sounds close to me.

Bill,  I know you chastised me about this in another post, but I do seem to get better performance myself when I select "Adjust for Best Appearance", as MrMayno did.  Doesn't really make sense...but it seems to work.  The option "Enable Desktop Composition" is enabled with this setting.
Note I have 32-bit Win7 with only 4GB RAM.

I've filled a problem report on missing Now Time recently.

Here's how to make it missing.

- undock a windows, say the Console. Maximize it, covering it over main X2 windows.

- Ctrl-S (save).

- Close, reopen X2 and the project.

- Move the Console windows away, Now Time is missing.

Edit : I'm not running the latest quick fix yet, will do so when I get back later.

Hi,

Can someone check if the above is reproducible, or is it just my system.

Because, I have my Win 7 aero turned off due to avoiding a sound drop out issue early on when I run X1. In my previous situation, when I move my mouse across the taskbar X1 engine will have a drop out. Disabling aero, prevented that, and I have since let my system running without aero, and there is no issue with X1.

Now, when I check my setting -> Win key + Pause, Advanced - Setting, I had mine set at "Adjust for best performance", and not "Let Windows choose what's best..", also, I don't have "Enable desktop composition" option as well.

Just like to confirm if my issue of missing "Now Time" is related to the OP issue, or a different one.

Btw, my issue above, the problem reporter status is now submitted to development.

Thanks!

Mine disappeared once too but don't remember why or how. If it happens again I'll be back.

Yea, this happened to me last night.  Solved itself when I shut down.

Note, I'm still working up the new 64 bit computer - I have a dead line Monday, so I haven't fussed w/ it enough.

Installed quick fix 308, the above is still reproducible in my system. I shall enable aero again (I'm running classic looks and feel) tomorrow (a few hours away).. and see if it helps.

Edit : docking the console window will bring back the Now Time. Without saving the project, reopening the same project (where the console window is maximized, covering the main X2 window) will again makes the Now Time missing. More test with aero tomorrow...

Jim,

I don't know if you found a workable solution to your situation yet.  I just installed X2 on a notebook and had the same problem when opening a project from my desktop setup.  I always keep the Console undocked and in the second monitor on my desktop, so when I open a desktop project on my notebook, the Console window comes up last and fills the screen.  I minimize it and there's no Now Time marker in Track view.  I found that what I have to do to get it back is minimize the main X2 window (the one with the Track view) then restore it, and then the Now Time marker appears, without having to save or do anything else.  I hope this works for you.  It's annoying, but you get used to it quickly.

Arrgh! This just happened to me. The NOW time marker+vertical line is INVISIBLE! All functions work (scrolled playback, time positioning via click) but the line and indicator pod is invisible.

I use Windows 7-64, but in "Classic" scheme (i.e. non-aero, I guess).

When i exit SONAR, and then re-run and open my project, the NOW timeline is back.

It could have something to do with:
   Changing Tools between Scrub and Smart;
using PRV window undocked and maximized.

If it happens again, I'll try the minimize main window trick.
