I generated my cert file, submitted to cakewalk's servers and received the .DAT files in return.  However, when I go into the L-Phase EQ and MBCompressor and try to import, all the files in the Finder are greyed out.  I am unable to click and import the .DAT file.
 
Has anybody else seen the same thing?  Any ideas on how to resolve this?

I don't believe VST run on Mac without a wrapper of some sort.
