How do you slice audio files in sonar x3 studio? I've tried loop construction, but it doesn't let me actually slice the files and save or export them as individual slices. Maybe I'm not doing it right, but it hasn't been working for me so far. I'm also unable to drag and drop slices from the loop construction view.

Hi. After splitting the clips, select all, and bounce to clip (under track menu).
After that you can drag the to the Browser (IIRC) or export them.
I haven't done this, so you may have to export separate clips.
All the best.

I tool copy the track into Wave Lab where this is an easy task. You just save each piece as you go to a folder. From the folder you can drag and drp back into Sonar.

After splitting the clips, and bounce to clip (under track menu), you can also drag them to a cell in the Matrix view, and arrange the clips for triggering.

I've described this several times and it's late so I'm not into typing a lot, but the short form answer is in track view, you can select an acidized or REX clip, tab through the slices, and hit "S" to split at each slice marker. Changing preferences to select the section to the right of a split makes this easier. Select them all, then apply trimming from the Clips menu or bounce each one to itself. Now you can drag the individual clips into the browser. There's more info on this in Chapter 6 on page 120 in The Second Big Book of SONAR Tips.

I just sent a column in to Sound on Sound that covers slicing in considerable detail. I guess it would be in the March or April issue.
