I decided today was the day to try out my first bus strip. I right clicked a track and added a bus strip (bus D) Every thing seemed fine, added some effects and it sounded great. But in clicking the 'post" button on the original track, on the console view, it gave me a slap reverb effect. I assume I am getting some kind of drag or latency or some sort. I deleted the track and started over and it is doing the same thing. I get the post and pre but I don't understand why the delay. I feel I need to understand what is doing it if anyone can help me learn.

Thanks,
Sharky

Which reverb are you using on the bus.....?  maybe you need to set the initial delay to zero (or as close as)

I deleted all the reverbs and delays and it still is doing it. I think it kicked in when I hit the "send" button on the track strip.

So did it happen when you clicked the Post button or the Send on/off button?

And regardless of which one, did you click it during playback? Sonar has a problem whereby enabling a send during playback will throw the audio on the bus out of sync with the source track. It might well be enough to cause a slapback effect. I always stop the transport when enabling sends because of this.

It happened when I clicked the send button and yes, it was clicked during playback, while it was playing.

+1
You have to stop the transport. It should be fine after you hit play again.

Okay, I will delete the bus and start over. Many thanks for the time to help out.
