I use these on bigger projects and Craig Anderton is right, it does make a cumulative difference. My question is this plug-in native to SONAR or is it 3rd party and if so can I get a vst version to work with another DAW?

It was made by Overloud. Since then Overloud combined and enhanced the console and tape PC modules it made for Cakewalk into a single plug-in Tapedesk available in VST and AAX formats

Hi. These are Native to SONAR. Or at least the included ones.
There are 3rd party PC modules that also has a vst version.
The only Native PC module (sold as Cakewalk) I know of that has a vst version, and will work elsewhere is the CA2A.
Others may know better.
All the best.

Thanks guys. I had a feeling it was 3rd party. They are the only PC modules I couldn't track down.

Only the Console Emulator was based on/enhanced from the PC module, the TAPE Machine part is completely new. Iked about it when TAPEDESK was released. IMO it is far superior to the CE and TM included with SONAR

From Overloud

Hello Jeff,
the console emulation into the Tapedesk is based on the Console Emulator into SONAR with some improvements on sound processing: the tape machine emulation is newly developed.

Kind Regards,
Thomas - Overloud Support

Looks like I can get Tape Desk from Overloud for $99 which is $80 cheaper since they have an upgrade path for Sonar users. Too bad it's not free like their other offer, but I'm not complaining.

There are other console emulations available as well, might be worth checking them out too.
