I just updated to WIN 10 from WIN 8.1.... SPLAT is now in DEMO mode.  Is there a way to get this back to work in registered mode?

Sorry, but just, no. My home machine is also my netflix machine, my internet browsing machine, my gaming machine. I'm not going to avoid updates. That's just bad advice. It's like suggesting that someone doesn't drive with a seatbelt in order to prevent chafing on their shoulder, or to disable the driver airbag in case it makes a loud startling noise in the event of a crash.

Completely wrong, I said run Windows update for business and the link covers that. You should have read the full article not just the first part before going on a massive assumption fest.. If you can't be bothered search the page for "business".

This is standard method used by MS professionals supporting corporates who have critical software. Corporate running business critical software do not regularly take their PC's offline...think about it.

I should have added you should also always back up with something like Acronis True Image as well.

Have you run CCC and rebooted?
Otherwise try reinstalling Sonar.

Open Command Centre and sign in. Now Launch Sonar. It should authorise Splat. You only have to do this once.

If you aren't installing updates then I suggest you go completely offline and don't install anything. Security updates happen for a reason... And you are not the OP either.

If you are on the internet you need to be installing security updates, if you want a reliable Windows 10 then go Windows update for business (let everybody else beta test first). And don't forget to do regular backups so you can roll back if necessary.

Or just go offline and retreat into a darkened bunker.

I have to agree with you here.

I have my machine connected to the internet 24/7 and I would not skip Windows updates on the extremely remote chance it might break Sonar.  Even if it did, you can always uninstall the update (or revert to a previous disk image if you have one).  Also, if a Microsoft update is going to bork Sonar, it is very likely to be an erroneous Microsoft provided driver that will do that.  I do not let Microsoft touch drivers but I update drivers manually from the manufacturer's website when available.

The advice is NOT bad, I happen to know what I am talking about, and the reasons you gave clearly showed you only speed read the beginning of articles and jump to immediate conclusions (I have already demonstrated this to you without your acknowledgement). If you regard the advice being incomplete (which it is not) then go away and do some research, I'm not here to babyspoon you, you are a grown man (I assume). You appear to be fairly clueless and think if you can keep shouting similar things (without adding anything of substance yourself) and get away with it (a la Trump).. people however who can see right through you.

I never said updates should be avoided. MS update for business is a service provided by MS that delays updates until they mature, it also rolls out security updates in a timely manner...again you didn't read the article.

More advise you will probably dismiss immediately as crap without a second thought, avoid running applications that may interfere with your DAW by multibooting into seperate Windows instances. Running games etc on the same OS installation as your DAW is hardly optimal.
