Somewhat related... after years of resistance I've been contemplating giving in and watching Quadraphenia for the first time. Apparently it's not nearly as nonsensical as Tommy was.
Quadrophenia is a great movie, you'll like it.
Howdy, James. Ya, someone mentioned it on another forum and I got to reading a bit more about it. I was under the impression that the band (well, Townsend) were involved with/controlled the production but that was wrong. It's just loosely based on the story from the album but tried to stay true to the reality of the mod/post mod era.
The mods of course being of particular interest to me as they were the precursor to what eventually became punk. Real punk. Not that manufactured Malcolm McClaren silliness.
