I'll give the amp sim split a try, maybe in an easier way. Stupid me, I've always just used one amp sim and called it good. Doh!

Got a little Boston feel there in the middle, sweet guitar toneage.

Song-wise, I dunno about that double-timed kick drum section, for me that called attention away from the song. One man's mash-up is another man's crash up. I get you were merging styles, but it left me kind of wondering a little what I was listening to . . . yeah, no biggie, just my .02 euros.

That said, does anyone remember Country Dick Montana and the Beat Farmers? Your tune has the fun-to-do quality as theirs - the fun shines through . . .

cheers,
-Tom

Well the sims on their own aren't "bad". I can usually squeeze out close to what I want from them in most cases but I'm very picky so I end up spending WAAAAYY too much time screwing around with just the sim options. Being able to get the Prochannel stuff and other VSTs crammed into the chains EXACTLY where I want them made sculpting and positioning the tones easier with less work internally on the sims.

Setting up the internal mixers/crossovers/cabs/chains/FX/etc is just more awkward to me because I'm much more used to Sonar components and they sound better to me anyway. It also avoids constantly having to open multiple sim GUIs and hunting around to tweak things (this is a particular PITA with TH2 because you have to roam around that weird floor setup and poke in weird places to get at extra options).

Like I said though... I'm a bit of a spazz. ;-)

Thanks for checking it out, Tom.

Cheers.

Tom,

At least you had a reaction rather than "drums, meh".

Thanks for the listen and the other comments.

I think Baps may have gone double kickin' cuz he knows I'm a thrasher. He may not have anticipated I'm blueser too.

So we done did ended up wif a foosion.

I was skeptical at first too but think it worked out well in the end. Makes it quirky/interesting. Just how I likez things.

Boring is boooooring.

Quirky is waaaay better than boring! Plus your doubletime drums will wake up the guy slumped at the end of the bar, drowning his midlife crisis away in a sea of Long Island Ice Teas.

that would be me.

good song guys . . .

Rockin' dudes...   Beeps' over the top shreddin' adds a nice variation to things.  And speaking of, I just used the PP split > two amp sims thing too (works great!) and I do think it's effective here.

Question - did y'all really look each other in the eyes?    Just curious..

I seem to recall it, but I'm usually mistaken about these things.
