Best investment ever, short of my beloved Emotiva speakers: a 2560x1080 34" ultrawide monitor. Then I bought a dual monitor arm and mounted my old dual screens above. Woohoo! Screen real estate to spare! And much easier on my aged eyes.

I think I have the same maracas...from the 60's.. or earlier.  Same paint job.

The color scheme must be standard for all Mexican maracas, because all of them are painted that way. Which makes sense once you realize they are the colors of the Mexican flag.

That's an impressive monitor setup.

The LG gets good reviews on Newegg. Would you recommend it for other purposes? Browsing? Photo editing?

Nice!  I have a 32" Samsung QHD (2560x1440).  Dell 24" off to the side.  I like your vertical setup better...

I also have the same 2-day old cup of coffee.

My ideal setup would consist of two of these ultrawide screens, one above the other. My current set up is a cheaper compromise, with four 19" 5:4 ratio 1280x1024 Dell monitors in a 2-up 2-down arrangement. I tend to use each side-by-side pair as though it were a single screen, i.e. with a single window stretched across the entire width of the two. The centre gap is a little bit annoying sometimes. Replacing it all with 2 ultrawide screens would solve that problem.

Absolutely. It's great for web browsing (I no longer have to zoom to accommodate my poor eyesight), as well as watching movies on Netflix. With acoustic absorption and full-spectrum speakers, it's a personal movie theater. If it's just me watching, I prefer my computer now over the 65" screen in the living room because of the superior sound.

Two of these 34" monitors would be nice, but there are advantages to using a pair of smaller monitors. You can maximize windows, for example, without resorting to split-screen software. The LG came with software to split the screen in 2, 3 or 4 virtual displays, but I never use it. I also have the option (haven't tried it yet, though) of turning one of the smaller displays around so it's visible from the vocal booth, for lyrics.

I wish you hadn't told me how much they cost now, Sixfinger. I make a point of avoiding ads for anything I've just bought. That price is $139 less than I paid. And that's why I avoid looking at anything I've just bought.
