I'm a bit confused though; do you need a recommendation? If so, I've got an original Babyface I love. It's as solid as a rock. I know RME came out with an upgrade: Babyface Pro.
 

No, I don't need a recommendation right now. I was just commenting on how good the interface advice has been here. Maybe I should have posted in another forum section.
I hope a lot of you will consider going to the forums mentioned above and keep in touch.

Well, you gotta cut them some slack... they came through on the spot when all the **** went down and I appreciate their efforts providing us with alternatives so quickly... ya never know when you will wake up and this forum will be gone(or at least only available on the wayback machine website)

My guess is whenever the bill comes for the service of using the web page and servers falls on someones desk to be paid will decide the fate of our beloved forum. If the accountants desk is at Cakewalk in Boston, there will be no body there and no money coming in to pay the bill. If it falls on a desk at Gibson, the accountant might just pay it not knowing or caring what it's for. We might be forgotten and remain up and running for a long while yet. 
 
And the rumor is there are still 3 things that might happen to Cakewalk:
1: Sold to a new owner - most likely I think
2: Re organized, budget slashed and carry on under same roof- not likely
3: Scrapped and forgotten by the business world. 2nd most likely.

I'd rank them as #3, then #1, and finaly #2 as likely in occurrence. If #1 was even a remote option, Gibson and Cakewalk would have put it out there as a plan going forward to stall customers from leaving.

The Name Cakewalk has some value, even if every baker is gone and the code is old.  Not much.  And, of course, if Gibson goes down all the code will be available for sale by the bankruptcy court.
