Well I didn't read the comments until now, but this is what I was going to post which is kind of similar to the above.
Your music always blows me away so I never have much to comment on. However I think the vocal here could use some help because it sounds a little thin or something.
thanks for the kind words, bjorn....
i worked on the vox last night,
using the original tracking,
i made some good progress, and might post an updated mix soon.

Wow, really interesting harmonic structure and really enjoyed the lyrics (and genre fusions!) Going to disagree with the above commentators on the lead vocals. It sounds great to my ears, certainly strained, but, that's how you sang it, right?
hey sean, appreciate the mix comments and suggestions,
and yes, sung at the top of my range, and pushed pretty hard, to get the intensity i wanted in the lyric content
seanmichaelrobinsonI think the first 30 seconds or so are where there are improvements to be made to the mix itself. I think the "aah" vocals running in the intro might sound more supportive
good ideas there, i've gone back and automated the ahhs to start lower, and placed a large plate verb across them during the entirety of the intro, which really puts a different mood on it! i like it.
seanmichaelrobinsonSimilarly, might be nice to have some slow, subtle movement in the synth part in the first 30 seconds or so, and maybe knock back the volume just a bit more before the big kick-in!
so i used some subtle panning of that synth part, across the intro, as the vocal ahhs are blurred into each section with the reverb leaving them hanging in the wind.... it's a nice effect!
spot on!
