I just received a notice of a new update for Melodyne (Essentials here).
It seems mostly directed towards needs of another DAW, but definitely for Splat/CbB as well.

I don't use Melodyne often as essentials doesn't have some tools I need so I continue to use V-Vocal in those situations.
But I do use the ARA marriage with CbB for many things...

So, I'm ready to perform this update but I am curious if anyone gas already done this. Any stumbling blocks? Something specific to performing the update?

I have updated Melodyne essentials previously with no issues, but I feel better asking around... just in case?

I have a problem w/ drag and drop to the timeline and MIDI tracks using Melodyne Studio 4.2.0.020 in CbB 24.8.0.32. I opened a ticket with Celemony yesterday, have been in communication with their support today. While support could not replicate the problem, I was able to generate a couple of dumps that were forwarded to their developers.

The transfer path in Cakewalk/Sonar: When using the Melodyne VST3 plug-in in Cakewalk/Sonar, the transfer path is now created automatically within the current project (Cakewalk Projects / / Melodyne / Transfers).

Exactly the kind of info I'm looking for. I too use that feature so I think I'll hold off on the update a wee bit.

I'll be curious to hear how your issue progresses. Please keep me/us updated if you can? It may be system specific, studio specific or broadbased, but I can easily wait...

If you have your old installer it is easy enough to update to the current release, test, uninstall and run the old installer if it fails.

I have problems with the update, Celemony support was able to partially resolve.

I just updated mine and it seems the autodetection is a little unpredictable.. sometimes it just leaves the notes in a straight line, instead of detecting the pitch.

It sounds like it is picking up the wrong algorithm. Double check your settings in Melodyne. If they look OK, please let Celemony support know about the problem. My issue is drag and drop hangs CbB. I have a way to work around the problem but it is not really a good solution. I have seen Melodyne choose the wrong algorithm while testing ways to get past the problem I reported but your issue may be different enough to warrant a separate report.

I have the same issue - you need to change algorithm say to melodic from percussive, then it seems to work OK - not tried drag and drop, so not sure of that

Same prob here, always have to change algorithm to Melodic. It works then but shouldn't have to change every time!
