Two mono guitar tracks - one input left the other input right. Both outputs set at stereo. Using Scarlette 2i2 interface. When pan left audio level stays same on both ears of headphones. When pan right audio level decreases in both ears. The right channel on meter is showing sound but no actual sound in headphones. This is true for the soft synth drums as well. Any help with this would be appreciated.

Audio set up:    Guitar > Boss GT100 > Scarlette 2i2 > Sonar X2

Panning issue was due to the type of headphone adapter I was  using. I switched it for a stereo adapter and now panning working as expected. Thank you all for your help in this matter.

If you are monitoring through the Scarlett 2i2 I believe it does not allow stereo Monitoring.  I use to use one of these and upgraded to the Clarett. I believe everything should still record in stereo though.  Not sure if this is your exact issue though.

I would imaging the Scarlett 2i2 supports stereo monitoring as my Scarlett 18i20 does.

Make sure the synth properties is set to stereo output, and adjust the stereo panning in the synth itself for optimal results.
It will stay panned and placed in the mix even with the track's stereo audio output set too center. You can still use the track's pan control for fine tuning adjustments.

Here is an email directly from Focusrite support on this subject.

Hello Mark,

Thank you for getting back to me.

This depends entirely on how you have this set up, but if you are monitoring the inputs directly from headphones/speakers using direct monitor on the 2i2 then yes this will be a Mono Output.

The Scarlett 2i4 has an option to use direct monitor in Mono or Stereo, but the 2i2 will always be mono in this type of set up.

Again, depending on how you have this set up, you could route the audio Inputs through a DAW and pan them Left and Right.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
