I'm looking for a quick and easy way to route music from iTunes, WMP, Spotify etc through a VST so that I can listen to music through the ARC2 plugin. From what I've read it seems to be doable with the free SAVIHost plugin, but for the life of me I cannot make head nor tail of getting it to work. When you run the program it brings up a file browser so that you can point it to the VST you wish to load, and I managed to get it to do that OK. But I'm at a loss as to what to select in the "Device" menu as input port and output port in order to route sound through it. So far I haven't been able to route any sound through the VST.

Has anyone managed to do this, or know of any other simple way to route all of my non-DAW audio through a VST?

This is what I do.

I tried using VSTHost but it kept "drifting" latency-wise and I had to reset it every so often.
PedalBoard2 works much better!

So the method you describe in that post, does it work with an external interface, or do you have to use the internal soundcard?

Sounds good. If I can route all audio through ARC2 then $35 for VAC is well worth it.

The problem is hooking another program into the signal path between the player and the audio interface. Such utilities do exist, but I've never tried them. I use hardware EQ that sits between my interface and powered speakers, so it's on all the time whether listening to CDs, MP3s or watching Netflix.

The easiest solution, I think, would be a player that can host VSTs. I have heard of people hosting ARC in both Foobar 2000 and WinAmp, using a VST wrapper plugin

Web audio like Soundcloud wouldn't run through ARC in the scenario posted by bitflipper.
Anything going to the soundcard goes through ARC in my scenario without having to use a specific player.
I can provide screenshots if you get VAC and need help setting it up with Pedalboard.

Yeah Bit I've read about people managing to host VST's in WinAmp and I may well look into that for my MP3 collection. However sad as it may seem, I do most of my listening on Spotify nowadays and I'd love to be able to route that audio into ARC2.
