Hello, I recently bought a MGear (or M-Audio if you will) EX-P expression pedal for my A-500PRO keyboard (since that's what I found was being recommended). I've plugged it into the P2-jack on the keyboard, but it doesn't seem to be working. Nothing happens when I move it and I when I try to use "MIDI learn" on a expression-setting in Cubase it doesn't respond at all. I've looked into using the A-PRO editor to set it up, but I honestly have no clue what I'm doing so I don't want to mess things up too badly.

Has anyone got any clue what might be wrong? I can't seem to find any info in any manual other than "plug it in". The Keyboard is currently connected by USB, does it need to be connected by MIDI for the pedal to work or something like that? Also, I've tried switching the button under the pedal to both "M-audio" and "other".

(if possible I'd love to configure it so that I can assign it to various functions in cubase, depending on what I need for the time being)

EDIT: SOLVED!
What I did was to set the pedal to M-Audio mode. Went into the A-PRO editor. Clicked the expression pedal and set it's message to "channel message". Midi channel: 1. Control number: 11. Min value: 0. Max value: 127 output: port 1.
Now it works fine in cubase and I seem to be able to assign it to anything I like using the midi-learn option.

If you haven't already update the A500 Pro drivers and firmware from Rolands site.

Done that already unfortunately. :/

Edit: Yay! Problem solved. I will update my first post with the solution!
