Not at home right mow, so this is from memory.. You should have loaded a USB driver for the V100.

I have one and use it mostly as a transport controller. Works well for that. I have never used it for much more than that as far as a control surface.

I do use it's mixer/interface to record and find it works very well. I can use it also for switching between tracks and mute/solo them.

I haven't had much luck with knobs turning the parameter I want in a vst or Console View. I have a mAudio Trigger Finger and it has twelve assignable knobs. I can get a few to work but not as much as I want.

i am using it as an audio interface so i have already installed usb driver. i have no problem latency and other recording/monitoring things. But when i want to use buttons on vstudio it generate midi signal but randomly.

My old DAW was Sonar 8.5. and i was able to use my vstudio 100 as audio i/o and control surface.

I see in the other thread you mention "MIDI events" are coming from it. So, for me it looks like you do not have Control Surface plug-in configured (in the corresponding preferences section).

If you do not see VS-100 in the list, try http://www.cakewalk.com/Support/Knowledge-Base/2007013039/V-Studio-100-Control-Surface-Installer-x64-and-x86

It says;
"Note: if you have SONAR 8.5.2 or later already installed on your computer, this installer is not necessary."

I use New Sonar.

That is why I write "If you do not see". It can be that you have 32bit 8.5 and 64bit Platinum. Also I remember that it was separate (optional) "checkbox" during installation. I do not think reinstalling 8.5 just for that is a good idea (it will overwrite other shared libraries as well, so Platinum should be installed again).

In any case, it should be configured in each version separately (till newer version took all the settings successfully from some previous version, where it was working).

Does the ACT button light up when you start Sonar?  It should if the settings are correct.  Be sure to fire up the VS 100 FIRST, then start Sonar.

Let me know if you have more problems.
