Hi, Jane,

Wonderful job on this beautiful folk song and very pleasant, uplifting video!

Excellent songwriting and musical performances, and your voice is absolutely perfect for the traditional folk rock style.

Fantastic work, looking forward to hearing more in the future!

Best Wishes,
Bob

I was not expecting this. Very pleasant! Very cool video as well.

Some questions for ya. Did you mix this yourself? It's not too shabby! Tell me, what's going on with the flute? It has a machine-gun stutter to it. I also would ask about the compression on your vocals . . . Mostly very nice, but when you go soft, the lyric kind of disappears. Yet I can hear your breathe in, so the threshold must be set decently low.  Interesting! You might look at the softer lyrics (for one hundred "years" @2:24 as an example) and maybe volume automate them a little louder. Just a thought.

Overall, I like the ez jazz mix, the elements are all pretty groovy, and your vocal is mostly quite clear, with a very good performance. I'm not sure I'd call this folk, though. For me it's very ez lights out jazz-pop, Christopher Cross meets Dream Academy.

You are very talented!

cheers,
-Tom

Hi Tom, yes we recorded and mixed the song in my home studio. I arranged the song on my Korg Havian 30 and the flute sound is from the Korg. Thanks for the feedback on the vocals, I'll get my sound engineer (hubby) to check it out. And I like the idea of jazz-pop, thanks for the feedback cheers Jane

Well done Jane on all counts. I started me day with this and enjoyed it with my morning coffee.
Listening to Spell of Acrospire IV which is quite lovely in its own right.

Keep on posting your tracks.
