Counting Coup
Hi
I have a bunch of country tracks to master, light poppy stuff.
Can anyone recommend a recently-released, particularly well mixed and mastered album or two I can use as a reference? Male vox, right down the middle of the road.
Country is not my genre and I'd like to listen to how things sit these days before I launch into it.

Many thanks
David

Whoa. That is a tough one. Do you mean modern, commercial country? Or good old-fashioned old-timed country, done modern?

For the latter, try some recent Dale Watson, Bill kirchen, or Chuck meade.

But I suspect you want the former. 😉

I'd recommend Keith Urban or Chris Stapleton. Urban is more Pop/Country, but Stapletons stuff is mostly recorded on Vintage audio gear at the old RCA studio B in Nashville and is really well done.
