Doesn't really affect me anyways....since i torrented it off the net. And i did that with a sense that this will happen. And boy, what a good decision I made.

It's because of idiots like you that P5 got the axe.

I have came hear for along time. Can't ever say I remember you contributing anything, or any of your music. But, now all of a sudden your upset, and because your stolen software is no longer being developed. You are some kind of a$$-hat. Go suck at life elsewhere.

You should see his post over on the Orion forum, kicking off about how Cakewalk rip people off and aren't loyal to their customers. Wonder why he's so upset when he isn't one of their P5 customers...it also makes you wonder whether he has bothered to buy Orion or found some way to justify getting that for free too.

Anyway, been a while since we had a troll around here, so I guess we were due another one...

There is absolutely no justification for your actions.

Project5 had by far the smoothest, most versatile interface. Less is more, which is something these other companies just do not understand. I got p5 in 2004, and it has been literally all ive needed to make beats since. (besides soundforge for editing wav files). Sonar is a clumpy mess which i only use for recording lyrics on the beats i make in p5. I say, if it isnt completely dedicated to music creation, im not makin beats with it. If you guys dont create a new program in the future based largely off P5, im movin to image-line. And thats a sad day in hell.

So this is it. Finally some closure on the development of P5.

Wow!

It sure took long enough for Cakewalk to finally admit what most of us had come to accept as the truth. P5 could have been just as big as Reason or Live with periodic development.

What a waste!

I'm glad I jumped ship when I did. It wasn't easy switching from P5's workflow to Sonar's and then Live's, but it was well worth it. I like to know that the product that I am using will continue to grow and stay current with support and development. P5 never really had that.

It is what it is!

These are my next two purchases:

Ableton Live 8 Suite.
Akai APC 40
Akai MPC 5000 with OS2.

Ultimate workflow. No limitations.

If you wanted to hear some tracks i did, all you had to do was ask. Well, here's the link www.myspace.com/sevengreenlights
I'm not upset at all really. To me it seems like all the name calling like 'a$$-hat, a$$-rod' just makes you seem pretty low, since i'm not really the first one to strike out at someone i don't even know with such profanity.

Go suck at life? HAHA that's a good one....i won't even touch on this to embarass you, since i'm very satisfied with my life. Music is just a hobby of mine, hence i don't blow hundreds of dollars on software. You go ahead and ride the bandwagon of all those who get taken advantage of by the music industry and software companies. They like to throw the fishing rod with a bait inside your pocket...and your wallet takes the bite. Who's the sucker in the end?

For me, learning synthesis and the technical side of sound engineering was what hooked me into this. And why should knowledge have a monetary value put on it? Which is why i download programs and tutorials & i learn how to design my own sounds, learn the programs inside/out, synthesis, mastering, etc. And in the end, i keep the knowledge in my head and i lose nothing but gain quite alot really.

So you go right ahead and say what you will to me. To me you're just another of many forum people whom i'll never meet in real life.

Peace

Rafsan:

Why are you here?

I get that you think Cake are bunch of rob-dogs but you haven't parted with your hard earned cash, so why should you give a... that Project 5 development has ceased.

And why should knowledge have a monetary value put on it?
Why should Software Developers/Hardware makers release the products they have spent years in R&D etc for free? Last time I checked Cakewalk was not a registered charity.

Cheers
