OK, scook, thanks for the help.
Actually, I sent an e-mail to Cakewalk, but as MC 5 is discontinued, I was wondering if they would answer. But I will send them this informations.
Thanks again.

Discontinued or not, if there was a download version it should still be in your account.

Hi, I apologize for being insistent, but I was browsing the web and I saw a page about Music Creator 5, and it says its download version consisted in "2 files. The main program (320 MB) and Cakewalk Sound Center (214 MB).”

So I'd like to ask if someone knows about Cakewalk politics over discontinued programs, as I've seen on 'My Account - Products' page that MC 5 file has 320 MB, but there is no link for CWSC download.

I think this may have relation with my problem, as I've seen that just 1 Sound Center sound was installed, which is a percussion instrument. Maybe I have missed something? If someone could help, I'd appreciate.

Manuel

Hi Manuel,

I had tech support briefly take a look at your account to make sure there were not any issues going on with what Products you own and that side of it looks to be good.

Music Creator 5 is a single installer and includes Cakewalk Sound Center within. If you are experiencing issues with Sound Center not loading samples this is usually related to the install.

When you run the MC5 installer you have an option to only install specific elements. So can can re-run the installer and install only Cakewalk Sound Center. You will need to remove the check boxes and only check CSC.

The larger question is why did it not install correctly the first time and this is usually related to something else running on the system while the install is in progress. Here are a few tips that may help the install process be successful this next time.

  • Disable startup applications running in windows. http://www.howtogeek.com/74523/how-to-disable-startup-programs-in-windows/
  • Run windows update and make sure there is not a windows update currently in progress.
  • Temporarily disable any anti-virus software running in the background.
  • Right-Clicking on the installer and running as administrator can correct any permissions issues if that is causing a problem.
I hope one of these suggestions helps,

Hi, Mr. Lance Riley

Thanks for your reply. I'd like to say I was almost to post a reply, because I followed Scook's suggestion to contact Cakewalk Customer Service and fortunately they helped me with the installation of Sound Center.
I also had an issue with Free Cakewalk Sound Center Instruments Examples Pack, from Digital Sound Factory, after that, but fortunately Customer Service helped me again, and it is also working now.

Thanks for the attention, I'm glad Sound Center is working.
I also thanks for the list of things to be aware of when installing CW Softwares.

Best regards,
Manuel
