Hello All,

I am trying to install the Cakewalk Mackie plugin the:

Mackiecontrolsurface.exe app,
when I run the program (for Win10) I get an error that states that
"The shared Control Surface folder was not found" .....and then claims that I need to reinstall sonar.
This seems rather odd and I was wondering if anyone has a fix?
Thanks

The first time I see that... Can you check that you have "C:\Cakewalk\Shared surfaces" folder?
If not, you can try to create it (the plug-in will be registered my the installation procedure, so it does not matter than other plug-in are somewhere else).

Hello AZslow3, thank you for your help:

I have : C:\program files\cakewalk\shared surfaces

I have it only on machine with 32bit installation of Sonar (and 32bit Windows). But I see 16GB RAM, so I guess you have Windows 64bit.

In any case, try to create "C:\Cakewalk\Shared surfaces" and see what the installer say.
BTW from where have you download the installer?

So are you saying that the AZslow plugin, will not correct the plugin issues I have?
thank you.

I guess we should try to use 1 thread instead of 2

AZ Controller plug-in will not help you at all at the moment. My mod of the original MackieControl can help with ProChannel EQ/Comp only. But as I have written in another thread, FX plug-ins should work out of the box.

Hello AZslow,

Yes I do have the c:\program files\cakewalk\shared surfaces folder.
When I try to install the program:
https://www.cakewalk.com/Support/Knowledge-Base/2005263/Mackie-control-surface-Plug-in
it tells me that the shared surfaces folder is not found. then it asks me to reinstall sonar.

It may also be easier if I can simply get the *.dll file Mackie*.dll to simply copy to my
c:\program files\cakewalk\shared surfaces directory.
I currently have the mackiecontrol.dll file dated 2014-12-15 , I believe however, that cakewalk are providing a more current version.

MackieControl was not changed much since 2014 (if at all), so you can simply continue to use what you already have.
I guess the installers wants "C:\Cakewalk\Shared Surfaces" and not one in the "Program files". Which should be there in case you use 64bit Sonar and OS (and have not manipulated things by "simple copy to...").
