I have been reading pros and cons about using a dynamic versus condenser for live vocal (solo acoustic gig). Some say contrary to popular music lore that in ways it can be better on vocals and does not neccisarily promote feedback etc. I have not had a chance to just rehearse this yet with my personal PA..but in the mean time I thought the discussion from you experienced people would be good to hear. 

I sat in with a bluegrass band that used condensers on stage.  They worked pretty well but of course things were pretty quiet (relatively speaking) on the stage. They used it on my acoustic guitar and vocals. No problem that I could tell, and yeah, it sounded pretty good too.
 
I will say however, the guy just about had a cow when I tapped the windscreen and said CHECK 1 2... is this thing on?

I'm using Audio Technica AE3300s for vocals on stage and I'm very pleased with it. This is pop/rock with real drums, often in small venues BTW but in terms of feedback they are on par with the traditional Shure SM58s yet (of course depending on the voice) they sound a lot better

i've used a Behringer B1 for vocals in numerous situations and it's invariably sounded excellent. not sure why exactly because it's not an expensive mic but it really seems to make any singers voice (male or female) full and yet clear and articulate.

I would have too.  Condensers are not SM57s.  That could have damaged the mike depending on how sensitive it is.  Also, if that had been a ribbon mike it definitely would have trashed it as they are SUPER sensitive to any kind of trauma. 
Condensers and Ribbons tend to be more expensive than SM57s so be careful out there!

If feedback is a concern, don't forget that pattern matters too for bleed etc. Cardioid... super Cardioid. Omni. Consider your noise and where it will come from. Maybe a figure eight?
