Hi All,

Hope someone can help me with this, it's a bit of a pain in live situations

I use Sonar splat to display staff / host vsts / play drum track when playing live. For some reason, *some* of the projects in my playlist have the behaviour below, but not all.

If I open the project file in splat, press play, and then stop, the project name gets a star next to it to show the project has changed, and I'm asked if I want to save changes when I close the file. But I haven't changed anything, just played the file..

As I say, it doesn't happen with all projects, only some, and means I have to scrabble for the laptop to clear the save changes dialog.

Any ideas why this could happen? I'm out of ideas.. I thought maybe some rouge events, but have checked and there's nothing on any of the tracks. Also, this happens even when my controller keyboard is disconnected.

TIA

Probably a plug-in. Here is a similar thread from a few years ago (note: Noel's reply).

Scook - thanks so much!

Was exactly that issue - went through one of the projects that was having the issue and deleted every track in turn to find out which one caused it. Turns out an it was an Air VST, Xpand2, that was the culprit

Interestingly (and frustratingly), it only dirties the project for certain presets, not all.. go figure!

Anyway, at least I have a workaround, but it's annoying that I now have to re-jig my backing tracks to use a different plugin.

Much appreciated.

Either freeze or "bounce and archive" the synth. Both freeze and archive disconnect synths. Disconnected synths should not dirty a project.

Unfortunately can't do that, as it's being played by me there's no midi for it..

..well, guess I could if I recorded it , but I believe live should be live

Looks like something only BandLab can fix. If you send BandLab support a report make sure to mention the preset(s) in addition to the plug-in so they can easily replicate the problem.
