I have had a VS-700R on order since Feb 16th. The delivery date kept getting pushed out so I contacted Roland direct and here is the response. Can't exactly tell from the message if the product is being discontinued or not? Anyone else tried to order one recently? Oh well, this is not a good sign for V Studio 700 owners. At least they are going to try to find me one. I am not sure what to think of this.....

I have had a Roland VS-700R on order with Musicians Friend since Feb 6th 2012. The original ship date was Feb 27th. Then several weeks after I placed my order the date moved out to March 9th, then March 27th and now April 9th. Today a Sales Person with Musicians Friend called and told me that the VS-700R was no longer available from the mfg and that he could offer me a alternate product. Please advise what is going on with the VS-700R shipments. Sincerely, Mike

Hello Mike,

We spoke to our sales folks and they confirmed that we are out of VS-700R units and won't be getting any more for the foreseeable future. Our product manager is trying to track one down now and has told us he will be contacting Musician's Friend to see if he can get you one. Thanks for your patience on this.

The flagship is sinking ... :(

I bought the last one from American Musical a few weeks ago.(sigh) I was desperate! talking about beating this closing Cakewalk hardware revolution by a hair! I called Roland they indeed say the V700R is discontinued. But you can still buy them at many music store places on the internet. I am not sure about the 700C. I can't find anyone in the US that has a new VS-700R in stock!  If anyone knows a online vendor or local store that has one in stock please let me know. Thanks! Mike

I already contacted West LA via there eBay add last week. They do not have it in stock either. They thought they could get one from Roland quickly, but no go. They do have a demo V Studio Set, but they do not want to split it up. I have checked everywhere I can think of. If you know who else might have one, please let me know. I did find a returned V Studio at the Guitar Center in Nashville. It is a open box return and they will sell for  @$2700  if anyone is interested. That is a pretty good deal if it is in excellent condition. thx Mike

That's not an indication that it's been discontinued. Perhaps they're having problems in Japan? Has anyone gotten an official notice that it has been discontinued?

Nothing official, but several retailers have told me that the VS-700R is no longer available. They have even taken it off their website like Guitar Center. I hope it is just a delay. Mike

Roland stated they are gonna only sell the VS700 system only as a set. I don't know if they were gonna stop selling the consoles also. It's just the audio interface so far that I know of have been discontinued. Maybe they coming out with something newer. They will release another console or set, I'm sure, in one form or another within the next 2 years.
