  • Sonar Platinum supports VS-100 surface controls? [Solved thru Hacking]

SOLVED: Copy all VS-xxx from Registry from the Sonar X3 Install (for me was an antique computer with Sonar X3 64Bits installed) and VS-XXX.DLL from Program Files/Cakewalk/Shared Surfaces/  to the fresh install on a new computer. Loading all registry entries and copying the DLL will work like a charm.

*If you need more detailed info, please, ask, I will try to do a step-by-step and share my registry/DLL.. I only have the VS-100, if you have the VS-20, VS-700 and want to help others, let´s share the registry/dlls..

INITIAL POST:
Hi, My Sonar Platinum don't list it in the surface controls the VS-100 (or any other VS-*), does it support it and my install is corrupted? It add as midi interface, but the screen about surfasse there[s no VS-* at the drop down menu. just the Mackie ..

Prior it I was using music Creator 6 with the VS-100 as surfasse control with no problem, my other notebook had the Sonar X3 Producer with the VS-100 with no problem.

In Sonar platinum, it don't list the VS-* options at Surface control List, I can add as a midi interface, but not as control.

please, help :)

*I already re-installed all Sonar Platinum Package.

My VS-100 is working as I expect it with Sonar Platinum (audio and control surface).  It isn't clear to me from your post what is not working for you.  Have you installed the VS-100 driver to match your computer's Operating System?

Hi Glen, it works as sound module and midi interface at Sonar Platinum.
It doesnt work as surface control, because the Sonar platinum isnt showing an option to select the vs100 at the surface control list, just list Mackie. My install might be corrupted.
Thank you so much for your answer, I will uninstall all drivers and programs and try again.

Best regards,Franco

Hi, please, I formatted my WIndows 8.1 64bits, re-installed from Scratch Sonar Platinum, still not listing at surface control the VS-100.

I have installed the latest drivers, it works really fine as audio interface, it recognizes VS as MIDI and Control, BUT at the Surface Control Setup, the Sonar Platinum List doesn´t show up VS-100 at the list (as Sonar X3 shows up)... It only lists Mackie and Generic Cakewalk Surface Control.

Please, how you selected your VS- at the Control Surface? There was an option at the list with the name VS-700?

best regards, Franco

Do you have it set as input and output in the MIDI preferences?

This gives me:

I have the exact same problem here. I assume if Sonar X3 is on your PC, Sonar Platinum will show all control surfaces that are available in X3. But with a clean install it doesn't support it anymore.

I think Gibson erased all previous connections with Roland...

Also there is no Sonar LE included with new Roland interfaces anymore, so I assume the cooperation between Roland and Cakewalk is completely over.

Let's hope that Roland will release a control surface plugin for Sonar and other DAW's.

Sonar Platinum does NOT support VS-100, you must have pre-installed the Sonar X3 to use the older configuration... That´s Sad...
.
I didn´t had this info, I´ve formatted the PC to do a clean install and fix it, but no Vs-100 on the surface listing.. :(
.
Now I will install Sonar X3, then Install Sonar Platinum... WTF!

I also send a mail to Cakewalk, so maybe there is a solution?

I hope there will be a response soon!

Just wondering if this also needs to be installed http://www.rolandus.com/support/knowledge_base/201975989
It is the control surface driver for the VS-100from the Roland site, but actually redirected to the Cakewalk site.
