Sorry the Blue Pop-up notifications are in the bottom right corner. They look like this:

I sent a message to Tech Support to make sure they got your email. You should get a reply today or tomorrow. Keep in mind that we are not open during the weekends and do sometimes get a lot of mail to respond to on Mondays so it can take an extra day if that's the case but usually we get through most mail on the same day it's received.

Do you own any other Cakewalk products that are currently installed? Also when you open the app do you see a blue message in the bottom left corner that plug-ins have been scanned?

Thank you for your assistance, Lance! I've recieved a message from the Tech Support.
Yes, I see the pop-up VST Scan message, and no, no other Cakewalk products yet. I enjoy using the MC7, so if need be I 'll get its bigger brother. ) But first we gotta find a way to fix this mixstrip issue.

The issue is now solved! The Cakewalk user support is plain awesome! It was really tricky to figure out what's blocking the mixstrip modules from showing upon a mouse click, but we've finally traced and solved it.  Thanks to the Cakewalk support team and especially Joe Connor for all the patience, knowledge and support you provide!

Cool.
What was the solution, in case someone else has the problem?

The two quickest ways to get an answer about any CW product.
1. This forum
2. Call CW
They vary on which is quicker. Neither is painful. We're talkin minutes !

I've experimented with the Cakewalk content folder location and figured out that the problem with the MS modules exists only when the content folder is on a different physical HDD. (e.g., a logical partition on the second HDD). When the content is installed on the same drive whether in the system partition or in some other folder on a different logical partition I get no problems with the mixstrip or project templates.

thank you very much for letting us know in case someone else has this problem.

you should submit that as a Problem Report.  it should not work that way.

FWIW, I installed MC7 on C: and my "Cakewalk Content" is on N:, different physical drive on my PC and the Mixstrip works OK here.

Apparently, not the case with me. Go figure!
