The best and easiest way to convert ToonTrack MIDI to AD2 is EZPlayer Pro. But I still can't figure how to do the opposite with it, i.e. convert AD2 MIDI to EZD2 format.

If your EZD2 can import MIDI files then you could do this (even if not, you could still drag a modified MIDI file into your sequencer track):

AD2 drum mapping seems a bit quirky.  But there is always the quick and dirty way of dragging AD2 patterns from the plugin to MIDI tracks in Sonar.  I dragged a few patterns out of AD into MIDI tracks in a Sonar project, and pointed them to channel 10 in TTS-1, but you could just as easily point them to any drum VST, such as EZD2.

For my example, in the TTS-1 GM drum kit, the kick, snare, and at least one tom sounded close to correct.  But I heard cowbells and weird stuff where some cymbals should be.  But I was just trying to get a basic GM kit to play an AD2 pattern.

So drag the pattern you want from AD2 into a new Sonar MIDI track, output to the desired drum VST drum kit, then open up the pattern in Piano Roll view and play the keys corresponding to the notes you see in the pattern.

If they already match up to the sound in your drum kit, great.  If not, just use the move tool to move the note to a pitch corresponding with the correct kit piece.  When done editing, just export as MIDI.  It's a bit of work, but you now have a pattern that plays your kit correctly

I've done that.  It's the reason I bought EZ Player Pro.  Download the AD MIDI from your favorite martian's link above.  Add those files to the EZPP user lib.

For Addictive Drums, did you visit the Map Window? Hit the ? button in the top right corner and select Map Window. There you should be able to select a preset for GM.

I have an AD2 map made for using EZD2 midi. You are all welcome to PM your e-mail, and I'll send it to you to try.

The map I have used to be on the xlnaudio forum, I didn't make it, but I did save it.

Thanks Clint ... you gave that to me last year

I'm experimenting right now with the "native" AD GM map.  I'm hoping that with that selected that the clips I drag out are GM.

It's funny sometimes the simple stuff I get hung up on.  I just want some 6/8 beats in my FA - lol

It should work. I experimented by dragging a couple of clips to a MIDI track, each with different mapping presets enabled in AD. The resulting MIDI was different in each case. The Native Instruments drum kits have similar mapping presets which determine the MIDI that's dragged out.

Thanks! I only had to use add path menu and choose source mapping. Very easy.

I'm with sharke... Just change the AD2 map to GM and drag into sonar. Viola GM midi drum track. Unless you're talking about losing some of the nuance of the more expansive default AD2 map?
