Good evening everyone. I've been away from the forum for at least the last few weeks. Why? Because I got the new Pearl Mimic Pro drum module as a replacement to my Roland TD-20 (with TDW-20) brain.
It has been a great adventure in learning the ins and outs of a new module and tweaking it to be what I want it to be, but overall the module is quite outstanding.
I don't know how many here value such a module, but I did a review on my Blog page as well as several audio/video examples showing off a few of the kits and features.
I think it is a fantastic way to get very real sounding drum tracks without the hassle that is involved in VSTs and it is designed to be PLAYED and not just programmed. I know tons of folks love the VST stuff, but I've just not had the luck I'd want, even with my experience with proper PC setup, and technology understanding, so this no-nonsence, no-latency drum module with the quality of VST instruments has been a real hit for me.
