Well today is the first day that I am reading this thread, other than the first time I read it and took Chris up on his offer.
One thing I can tell you. He does what he says he will do. And he did it in a very professional manner. Before we started we talked (through PM) about what I wanted and that he could have some artistic freedom, but I would have the last word. He would not have none of that. He told me his goal when mixing is to make my work sound its best. He wanted me to hear it and know it's my work. He didn't want his mixing to overshadow my song.
I gave him the raw tracks and a version of a mix I did to show him what I was going for. He then sent me back a mix that I listened to, made notes for the things I wanted changed, sent him the note. He returned to me a mix that had everything that I wanted 'fixed' adjusted perfectly. This process went on for about three or four more times. And each time I was surprised at how he was able to understand my sometimes 'vague' description of what I was trying to tell him and get what I wanted right on the nose.
And I must say that the mix that I ended up with, was much better than the mix I sent him to listen to that I did.
After that I thought it was finished. But he went on to master the track and give me five different formats to use.
Chris did what he said he would do. And more. This whole experience has changed my mind about me mixing my own stuff.
