I won't buy it if there is. The lack of updates on the V-Studio (likely Rolands fault) and a terrible history with Tascam gear (sold my DM4800 because Tascams tech support is useless and their programmers couldn't even make a proper driver) have pushed me away from hardware designed for a specific DAW.

i was thinking of putting this idea up in the features & ideas thread the other day.

personally I would like to see a fusion of the VS 700c and Softubes Console 1: Low profile, USB powered, PC dedicated controls, maybe with some hi-res displays a la NI Maschine Studio.

That sounds like a good idea!

I would be happy to have an ACT-version where I can configurate the controllers (faders, rotaries, knobs and buttons) like on the hardware I use. A little bit like novations automap.
I used automap with a Zero MkII but I was never satistied with the way it controls other things than VST-Plugins. Controlling the Pro Channel is not really fun.

I'm waiting on the Behringer X-Touch to hit the stores. It's a Mackie MC Pro killer...

I've seen the x-touch series at musikmesse last spring. I'm as well wa
iting for the release and to read some reviews. The built quality seems very good for a low budget brand.

I actually love my VS-700. I don't have any problems that can't be overcome with a little bit of study. Just got the Maag EQ4 Air Band eq and the ACT gives me knobs to adjust the settings AND it did it automatically!
I am using SONAR X3e on Win7 64bit all day long.
Just sayin'...

I'm pretty sure there will be a console that integrate with Sonar from Tascam, but you may not see it until a few years. I'm pretty sure you'll see a new Tascam audio interface for the computer probably by this NAMM. High end $5000 - $10,000 console that supports Sonar is highly likely. A low $2500-$3000 console probably is secondary but wise. A $1500 or less console is likely. Tascam invented the home studio portastudio concept, this should be a marriage made in heaven for them. They should produce high quality consoles for Sonar at economically feasible prices considering they still produce low cost hardware recorders with more components.
