Hi I just got a new Alienware laptop with USB 3 ports.  The laptop is not recognizing my VStudio 100.  Anyone run into this before. I downloaded the Windows 8 drivers and the unit is on Firmware 1.5.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks,
John

Unfortunately the VS-100 may not be compatible with USB 3. From the Roland web site -

* This product cannot be used with a USB 3.0 port that is not compatible with USB 2.0 specification.
* If this product does not work correctly when connected to a USB 3.0 port, you will need to connect it to a USB 2.0 port.
* Even if connected to a USB 3.0 port, this product will operate as a USB 2.0 device; the performance of the product will not change.

Sorry this is not what you want to hear for your new laptop. Mine does not work when connected to a USB 3 port either.

Thanks Matt, that was what I was afraid of.  Ugh, now return the laptop or get new interface.

Actually I contacted support and didn't realize that the link you posted was a newer driver.  After installing that driver it seems to be working for me.   I had 2.01. The 2.02 driver did it.  It was likely a windows 8.1 compatibility issue.

Just noting because I missed that.

Thanks and good luck,
John

Thanks for the update. I too did not notice the driver change. Good news that you can keep your new laptop!
