Again, thank you for your kind and informative input! I put the new knowledge you imparted to me to the test. After loading a file into Music Creator I attached a midi cable from the Duo-Capture RX to my external sound module, and hit play. Was rather gratified to hear those vintage sound-canvas tones again! I recorded on a new track with my synth, no latency of course, just as my 386 computer 20 years ago was capable of doing. (love them tiny MIDI files)

Emboldened by my success, I added TTS 1 synth to one of my midi tracks and was rewarded by it's more nuanced sound, I cloned another track and added the Cakewalk sound center, again it worked flawlessly. I have further learned about midi files versus native formats, and why I was having to reset everything each time I loaded a file, i.e. saving as a midi file doesn't save settings, (!!) unlike native formats.

Tomorrow I'll get even more adventurous and do some more recording, maybe even audio!

I think expecting a new user to make something worthwhile, without a lot of hard work, with this software is a bit of a stretch. if I wasn't familiar with video editing software I'd give up on Music Creator. Just like my video editor, the 'help' section is opaque and almost context free. Not being up on the nomenclature of recording consoles, i.e. sends etc.  I find my self mentally screaming "What am I doing that for?!" There are lots of things that I'd like to use, but figuring out how to use will be a slog.
