Also in Cakewalk Pentagon I and z3ta+ classic, there are a few factory presets included for sweeps and swells.  Just switch all of the oscillators to noise to create that effect without too much trouble.

Glad you got it sorted!  Your whole question was really way beyond my comfort zone, but I was curious to see how it could be done.  The best way to learn I suppose!
 
The second part of your question is a good one too, that got buried in the sweep question.
 
The stutter effect.  That looks like anybody with the time could work that up on their DAW by processing a wave file.  There's a few guys on YouTube with tips.  But it looks like playing that effect in real-time is something else. 
 
I messed around with some gating effects, although that is not quite the sound.
 
But there is one tool for sale, that seems to have that effect covered, in the same sense that theRiser does swells well.
